Hi guys newbie hear so go easy with me, we have an employee who who took on to do another job but we have now seen that he has has a bookful of electrical certificates EMTA (J501,502,503,524,527,530,525) also City and Guilds competency certificates and a NVQ level 3 in electrical work as well, he got these from being the maintenance guy at a large car factory, basically the certificates mean nothing to me and was wondering what type of electrical work he could do for us if any.

Thanks in advance

Did a quick google and certificates are issued by the Engineering and Marine Training Authority.
So he possibly has done a marine cadetship(apprenticeship)
What job is he doing at present?

You are right Ian thats what EMTA started as

Then they became EMTA Awards Ltd

Which is EAL

And is the same EAL that now runs the EAL Domestic Installer course.

i did an NVQ L3 in Electrical Maintenance Eningeering back in the nineties, nothing to do with ships though!

I have a login to EAL's site, I will take a look later at the numbers

we have him doing odd jobs around the place, he says he was more into electrical maintenance than installation in his old job so i was wondering if he could fix light fittings etc.
