Discuss Electrical Testing in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

As has been said above. It’s all about repetition and practice. The more you do it, the slicker you’ll be with the sequence and your routine. It’s not something you can learn in front of a screen in my opinion; you’ll need to build a rig, or find one to practice on.

Hello, does anyone know of an, online, electrical installation testing simulator, please? Electrical testing as relates to dead and live testing of circuits for the electrical contracting industry.
IMO, the onlyway to learn testing is to set up a practice rig. you can introduce faults and then practice finding them.

Many thanks for your replies ........ and you’re not wrong in saying hands on practice, repetition etc. is the best way but I am looking for the next best thing i.e. an online simulator, if such a thing exists.

suggest you watch John Ward and Chris Kircher's youtubes. the latter has written a comprehensive book on testing. well worth the money. also have a look at this thread.

What's the back story for this? Are you just looking for yourself or as some means to allow students to practice during a potential virus shutdown?

I was fortunate enough to have Chris Kitcher as a tutor on my Test and Inspection course a few years back. Turns out he only lives a few miles from me! He's a great guy.

Is he still teaching at Crawley college?
He was the tutor when I did the 17th edition course.
