Hi everyone,

My employer is paying for my NVQ and I have been working in the establishment for 7 plus years. Unless stated in my contact, once I have recieved my qualification would it be possible for him to retract it in some way through foul play? I ask this because other people have left during busy times and he has then refused to give them refferences and otherwise tried to damage their career. Please help I don't want my hard work to go to waste.

Once he has paid for the NVQ including AM2 test and you receive your certs, thats it, job done.
If you leave the day after, if its in your contract you may have to pay some or all of the training costs, although this could have been claimed from gov by employer. He could also deduct from your last wage, although an illegal deduction from wages is an easily fixed problem. If you get into difficulty suggest contact Citizens advice.
