Hello!

Which solution would be best when traveling abroad:

a) buy an extension cord from your country of origin, then use an adapter in the destination country to plug it and then plug your devices to the extension cord.

b) buy an extension cord from the destination country, plug it and use adapters to plug your appliances to the extension cord.

Origin country in this case is Finland, Europe and destination is Japan. Devices are not grounded (a very small laptop, a smart phone and a c-pap device).

Thanks!

The ideal thing would an extension cord which has sockets to natch your devices, but with the plug replaced to match the country of destination. This avoids any risk of bad contacts, especially with poor quality adaptors.

I made up a lead as @DPG suggests using a UK 4 socket block and a moulded EU style cable cannibalised from an IEC lead (you know often you get something shipped with 2 or 3 leads for different countries instead of just your own arrangement).

The evidence, m'lud
