Not wanting to high jack this thread fellas, but just wanted an opinion on something.
There's been a couple of discussions tonight regarding gobby members, arms members and gobby arms members.. you get the idea.
Now I eyeballed the tilers forum earlier after the 500,00th post announcement on here and I noticed that some users have a 'trusted adviser' as well as an 'arms member' with their user names.
I was wondering as to weather a similar thing might be worth recognition on this forum. My main reasoning for this is many threads now are being swamped with a mixture of interpretations and opinions, which may be a good thing, however a lot of bickering and slagging off seems to occur.
When I scan through a thread, I know who's posts I will read. I know who I trust as I have the benefit of their prior contributions from all my previous time on here. However new members wanting genuine advise are unaware of who is who here and so can only go on their initial experience.. take this thread from earlier as an example of my point.
I'm thinking maybe people could be considered as 'trusted advisers' according to an overall assessment of their contributions, and possibly time of membership and post count. It could be carried out by mods in the first instance and then mods and existing trusted advisers further down the line..
I'm not trying to say one person is better than the other, but I honestly feel that the Arms is no longer limited to users who try to do what's best for this community.
