Appears you can only access the washer when in the shower area so maybe it's one o them SELV 12V washers ?

Nice idea. Takes some current when heating the water up.

He should look at caravan design (guess he didn't think about that!)

They are used to maximising space options, and they've got a few far better ideas than his.
