Alright chaps, just typing up some EICR report sheets one of the lads has done.. Does anybody know the Short-circuit capacity of a BS 1362 13 domestic fuse? Found a dist board full of the buggers!

6 kA, my learned friend.

generally, though, the DB cartridge fuses are BS1361.

Love to see a photo of that!! lol!! The lengths some plonkers will go to get it wrong, never ceases to amaze me!!

Hager do 'em and I think Clipsal as well. Had a loadof Hager ones to replace for someone who didn't like them in his DB and wanted MCB's instead.

why not get him to fit the correct BS1361 fuse?

Long story short - was on a recessed lighting (GU10's) and when his lamps were blowing it was taking the fuse with it as well. I gave him a handful of fuses, but he wanted 'em changing, so I changed 'em for him.

Inform your customers, that they can get FUSED GU10 bulbs.
These then don't blow fuses or better, blow dimmers.

This occurred about 4 years ago.

The original question was about BS1361 fuses in DB's and I was simply highlighting that the ones I changed were Hager - end of story.
