Looking to post a question in the DIY Electrical Advice section but I have no "Post new Tread option" am I missing something here it is agenral question regarding an external PIR and halogen light

I removed the old PIR the wiring looked like this

IMG_1390.jpg

On the left there is an L in, middle is neutral, on the right there is a L out

This is the wiring diagram for the new PIR

IMG_1392.jpg

Ignore the scribble this from a demented neighbor that though he knew what he was on about.

The question is which wire goes in where when I come to wire it up ?

Obviously the neutral goes to the neutral

Confused

No idea to be honest. Is there a switch involved, and what came out of where when you took the old one off?

according to the diagram L1 is the output to the light and L is the switched supply
you need to sort out which one is the switched supply and make sure its in the right terminal and connect the pir accordingly
if you are not a spark please get one to install this pir for you

live feed to L. Neutral to N. lamp across L1 and N. don't forget to connect earth to both PIR and lamp. the switch shown in the diagram is so you can turn it off , and if applicable, select auto or manual mode. read instructions. if you are feeding from anything other than a lighting circuit, you'll need to fuse down to 3A with a fused connection unit ( FCU ).
