MY BIRTHDAY IS A NATIONAL HOLIDAY!



I worked shifts and was never at home at Christmas for fourteen years when I should have been with my son. I never saw him open his presents.
From about 4 years + I’d take him with me (totally against the law). He caused chaos in the control rooms. Buttons are there to be pressed!

Christmas dinner was a logistical nightmare. The mess rooms only had Baby Belling cookers:
Plant 1 Turkey
Plant 2 Goose
Plant 3 roast potatoes
Plant 4 new potatoes
Plant 5 & 6 various vegetables.

Two Land Rovers with the fitter and I + junior driving around like maniacs with hot boxes between the various plants.

My son is now 29, he visits me twice a year. It gives me the chance to cook a full roast dinner. Neither of us like turkey, so a rib of beef goes in the oven, slow roasted while we bugger off to the pub.
