Hi guys,

Just wondering how you go about pricing rewires. I currently price for materials and then estimate the length of time it will take for myself and an apprentice to complete the work, and multiply this by my hourly rate.

I was speaking to a friend who prices his materials, and has a set price per circuit, and a price for containment and raggles, then a price for testing.

Just wondered what your methods were.

Cheers

What is an average price per point as I try and estimate the time require, not always very accurately (-:

Mark.

That will vary greatly depending on lots of factors. You can work out a per point price tailored to you by dividing previous profitable jobs of a similar by the number of points provided.

Price per point and adjust this depending on number of points on a sliding scale basis and also if excessive chasing is required , add the bonding and consumer unit and additional items such as light fittings , any special order items or appliances on top ...

Almost forgot price for moving furniture if excessive , i.e. packed house etc..

that's a pretty good guide, but the rewire prices should specify a void property. if it's occupied, add about £1000 to each.
