Discuss Hydroranger 200 siemens in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

You can provide a power supply from a DB to power a hydroranger.
However from the intent of your question I think we would need more data to be able to clarify your question.
A hydroranger needs a power supply and this can come from a DB.
What is the significance of a local building services DB?
Why would you expect that you cannot get a power supply from a DB?

I work as a sub contractor within the water treatment industry....most hydorangers that i install normaly come from an instumentation DB or from the LCP that is controlling the system so not really sure if it can be taken from a normal DB that is supplying sockets n lights...i dnt see a problem personaly as its only the supply....what you think or is there any spec within the industry about this??

So long as the control circuits for the device are correctly fed from the local system then the source of power for the device should not matter. I cannot think of any safety reason for having an instrumentation controlled shutdown off the hydroranger during operation.
The only problem may be if the system of instrumentation needs to have a single point of isolation due to internal safety requirements or if the hydroranger is part of an integrated control panel.
