It isn't fused by the 3A fuse at the heating spur.

im thinking did the immersion work before , if it was blown didnt matter what fuse was in a 1 amp would do

it worked perfectly before one evening it tripped and would never work then on changing it it popped the 3amp straight away. on fitting a 13 it worked fine

that's the thought process I'm suprised it managed before it initially blew. I took the advise of a plumbing and heating engineer to up the one fuse. it has worked just three me it goes from a 3amp

That was a very bad idea. Would you take advice from a spark of your gas boiler was leaking Gas? More to the point would you try and fix the gas boiler yourself? Electricity is dangerous too.
