Could someone tell me if it is possible in fluke 1663/1664 to activate the option to carry out an insulation test without having the finger fixed on the test button? I am not referring to the differential test, which I know can be done by detecting voltage and not pressing the "start". I only mean insulation test... or maybe it's not possible...? (it is not in the manual)
The only conclusion I can draw is for the safety of the operator... Other manufacturers, which are many, do the test by pressing the insulation test once...

I have testers that take both approaches. Metrel is press and let go and it takes samples over a couple of seconds. Meggers are press and hold.

The advantage of those that keep the current running while you hold is that you can see if the reading is slowly improving or vice versa. Sometimes you can see lower IR which improves as you are physically drying out the cable by running current through it.
If anything, I consider the method your tester uses to be the superior method!
