The Ghost

Good morning fellow sparks. Thought I would just do a post to at least begin to move down the indecipherable stuff I found on the page today. So here it is. I often wonder what is the motive of the people causing this inconvenience. I wonder if the advertisers think "Mhmm, this forum aint too good for my business with all this double dutch all over it" Anyway that's it for now.

I really don't understand why new users can't be subject to some kind of initial moderation, for example limited to 1 or 2 posts for the first day, long enough for admin to sus out if they are legit or spammers.

I've put them on ignore, but now when I click on "New Posts" I only see 2 threads, presumably because the software only looks at so many, and filters the ignores, and there's little else left.

Plus an infrequent or new user wouldn't know to do that, they'd just assume the forum is broken and go elsewhere.

I did also wonder can it is not possible to have the forum filter out any posts with kanji characters, since I only want to see posts in English.

I asked this question in another post and @SparkyChick did a great answer, as usual. See post #16

If we can locate the address where the spammers are operating from then I have a contact in the Russian Embassy who was on a business trip to Salisbury last week that could send them "something"

If you like darts, quiz shows, nostalgia or the 1980s, there's a day of Bullseye on Challenge in memory of Jim Bowen.
