Hopefully he measured from the side wall and the floor before it got covered... so all he has to do is measure them out again and poke a hole through the board.

A question could be asked about his cable route in prescribed zones... What are other members thoughts on this?

Unfortunately, the plasterboard has been skimmed with plaster, so I reckon cutting a hole will make a mess of that. Should the holes have cut before?
 
Itll be fine.

Its an everyday occurrence for domestic sparks where we have to cut out a hole. A sharp jab saw will soon cut through.

Its easier for the plasterer to skim where there's a flat surface... precut holes make it difficult for them.

I presume this is for a utility room? Would you be tiling or perhaps a splashback of wetwall?

Thanks for that, you put my mind at ease. This corner of the kitchen will have an under counter freestanding washing machine on the left with a sink base unit to the right. There will be some tiling done above the work top when the kitchen is complete.
