Gonna treat myself to my first laser level in the new year.

I will mainly use it for doing spot lights and also things like making all sockets level on an install.

Needs to be robust, self levelling, vertical and horizontal lines and easy to use.

Don't really have a budget just would prefer a brand with good build quality so that I get a good life out of the unit.

Can anyone offer any recommendations?

I have the dewalt one one. Costs about 200 pounds and its brilliant. I use it for downlights, aligning back boxes on first fix even giving me a plumb line for chasing. Its really good on batteries and easy to use. I cannot reccomend it enough

I've got a Stanley CLL laser level. It mounts on a single pole. It cost under £100. The only thing I've found with it is the lack of small adjustment.

dewalt all the way, about 140 notes now too so not too bad, all i ever really see on site now is the dewalt

i've got a bosch GLL2, comes with a tripod and it's only 140 i think. it's good for downlights as you can tilt it up on the tripod and get a line from both edges of the ceiling.

A few months back I invested in a DW087K cross line laser and the Stanley 3.6m Pole kit. (Laser_ level.co.uk)

Well recommended

I got the dewalt 88k £185 was selling on gumtree last week as don't use it much . But it is good if you doing a lot of surface work , cleats , etc ,didn't find it great for doing spot lights, if an awkward shaped room you need 2 and if a standard room tape measure just. Anyway goon to keep it now..... Not worth selling .

watch out or you will have every laser level you ever buy stolen on the first day......inside the first 3 hours...don't turn your back on a big construction site or it will be gone....either an addict will jump the fence and steal it or a dodgy worker will take it for their kit...
