Hello. My wife cut through our lawnmower cable, re-connected the blue and brown wires, after which it worked fine for a few months. Then last weekend the tape came loose and I think the blue and brown wires have touched each other while it was plugged in. I've stripped back the wires and re-connected, but this time nothing happens - there seems to be no power going to the mower. I'm not sure whether I should buy a new cable and go to the trouble of fitting it as I have a suspicion that the electrics have been blown in some way by the wires touching.
Would my suspicion be a fair one and if so, would it be better to dump the mower or is it (easily?) salvageable?
Many thanks for your advice!

I would keep the mower - it may have some scrap value - and dump the dozy wife who chopped through its cable.
