Logic six Alarm problem

Hi guys.
I'm currently at my Dad's and his Alarm isn't setting. It is a logic 6 alarm system. In a bungalow. 1 door sensor and 1 PIR. It is operated by a key fob. The alarm is not setting, or at least there is no tone to say it is setting, when we hold the key fob to it. Before having to call someone out and spend money has anyone got any suggestions?

Is it making any sound when you put the fob near the panel?are there any lights lit on the panel?

The key fob and system is pretty new, so can't see battery being issue. when fob is offered up to system the lights flash across panel, but no sound to show it is setting? This only seems to have started since it alarmed out other day after forgetting to shut a window, neighbour came and switched off. The alarm does seem to set, but no way of knowing if it is setting or not as no tone as is usual.

first, make sure you have reset the panel following the alarm. then try setting and waiting by panel. if it then shows "set" could be sounder has failed

You might have to re-learn the fobs as the panel mightve 'lost' them...there isnt any batteries in the fobs btw...

Thanks, sounds possible as it does seem to set, yet no tones. Best ring the guy then, been trying to reset it and set again, but no joy, The sounder doesn't let you know it is setting. The alarm does however seem to set and siren works ok outside. The operating instructions with it are very basic and no tips on finding a solution. There's just no way of knowing if it has actually set, unless you trigger the alarm.

if it hasnt been in long, the guy should come back ok...obviously he is an NSI approved installer then...

sounds like ( forgive the pun ) that the sounder is gone o/c. if system is under 12 months, call installer back.=under warranty.

Not a clue who installed it to be honest, not my alarm. tried to ring guy but he not answering at moment. It is setting, and alarm sounding. Just no tones to let you know it's setting. Also no 2 seems to light up when you go to set it, any ideas? Helpfully, there is no instructions as to what is what zone etc. So not a clue what no 2 relates to.

it looks like you need an engineer visit the as something is open circuit. any competent alarm engineer can sort it, is there a number on the external siren to ring?
