NIC or SELECT

As mentioned in previous posts I am looking at starting out myself. I was wondering which of the schemes is better in scotland, nic or select, does anyone have any preferences? I have been offered a couple of contracts to help get me off the ground but they are looking for membership of one of these schemes.

Probably much the same to be fair, I would say niceic are more recognised in the industry than select.
with select.
the costs are also much the same.

I would say select in scotland.
niceic have been playing catchup up here since 2005
infact I know of quite a few outfits in my region ,who have been members of both for years leaving the niceic as the were A pita to deal with.
i find select easier to deal with IMO

You can't join select without being an approved spark and having served an apprenticeship or similair. I was under the impression that this isn't the case with nic?
