Hi,
I just bought a Nova 2218 hair cutting tool from Amazon.

It has a charger cable with a "~110V" 2 pin plug for the mains.
The device seemed very light to me, so i doubted there was a mains input stage in the device.
Therefore i took it apart and yes , there is no diode bridge etc.....its just a small battery and a few resistors and diodes and caps.

Do you know what type of battery its likely to be? Its a cylinder of size approx 2.5cm length and 1cm diameter

I think it will be a 3.7V lithium cell......so i guess i am ok charging it with a 100mA constant current charger with a max voltage cutout set to 4.2V?

Does the plug state it is 110v because it looks like a plug for a shaver socket.

If it's marked 110v A.c then it must have "a mains input stage" somewhere, most likely within the plug.

Just plug it in to a 110v shaver socket, or better still send it back and buy one designed for use in the U.K, assuming you're in the U.K
