So who would take the socket cover off?
 
The hive must be just above the back box.
The cover can just stay on. I’m not bothered about insects, but not bees, or their vicious cousins the wasps.
I’d be out the door pdq.
 
i love honey. when i was a kid my dad was the local bee catcher ( not his day job) and we had 4 hives in the back garden. we also had an Anderson shelter (google it) left from the war and inside was our honey extraction gear. iirc, we sold it at 3/6d a pot.
 
Not old enough to remember an Anderson mate but old enough to know what they were, (still have a few in Garden down here)....love honey as well ??
