Adjustable vee blocks, footprint grips, try square, mitre square, retractable scriber, tap wrench.

The adjustable vee blocks where a swine to make as you got marked down on the play in the ACME thread. The try square you got marked down depending on its degree of variance from square.

I know training costs an awful lot of money nowadays but what I learnt in the machine shop stayed with me and later on the company benefited. I would say it was a good investment on their part.
