Hi All,
I've been commissioned to carry out remedial works at a property that recently had an EICR done by another contractor. Upon arrival at the premises I immediately noticed several C1 & C2 Codes not mentioned in the report which I have reported back to the agents!
Anyway I have attached some images of the existing setup showing very limited space to install a new CU.
There is only 1 supply entering the board connected to Henley blocks before splitting to "power & lighting" main switch, then up to a Heating Contactor (presumably with a built in timer for off peak) this feeds another main switch which currently has no power to it, and then an old Hortsman economy 7 timer feeding an Immersion Heater & 2 other unknown circuits.
The question is, what would the best way be to replace this monstrosity of a maze. My thoughts are a new 18th edition CU with DIN mounted timer feeding a contactor for the storage heater & get rid of the old Enbray 2Z contactor, (if this is even possible!). A new economy 7 unit for immersion.
I look forward to the responses.
TIA

there is no built in timer, the timer is in a separate photo.

I wouldn't call it a monstrosity, looks like it was originally installed to a good standard and has since been messed with.

P.s. you should isolate before removing the covers, especially with old boards like that. it is not unusual to find live bars with no covers on them
