Just went to see a shop unit and opened the riser to find a couple of furry freinds running round having a party, how do i record that on the eicr,

the agent said he doesnt want to kill them he just wants them to leave, he should show them how much the rent is!

Should have called the piped piper rather than an electrician.....

Rodent damage is a/could be a serious issue
I would write on the ECIR that there is evidence of them and you can point out that the cables (if pvc T&E) are not rodent resistant, if there is no cable damage, at least you stated it on your report (if it occurs after not your problem)

I installed a massive fire alarm and after 1 week there was squirrel damage i was not a happy chap (but did get paid to sort)

If it's exposed busbars, just wait until they cross phases. Then you can charrge double! Its not your fault the dude has an affiliation with fluffly animals.

are you sure that they're rats and not MPs or lawyers?

I would raise it as a health and safety issue. Rats can carry Weil's disease which is pretty horrible if you catch it. They pass it on in their urine and they pee everywhere all the time. Wear gloves if you are working in there and wash your hands often.

I am told the same applies to MPs.

shop should be closed down and the access for rodents should be removed.........just leaving them is illegal for a business...........take a cat and a jack russel in for the day and let them get them, then plug in one or two of those noise boxes that they hate and put in some snap traps
