Practising Electrician (Qualified - Domestic or Commercial etc)
Hi Folks , Just looking for a bit of advice as I'm looking to get back on the tools so please bare with me if this is a bit long winded.
I'm a time served electrician and worked mostly in the commercial / Industrial area for 12yrs including my apprenticeship and was generally considered to be good at it, I ran my own business for many years doing some pretty big jobs. I then decided on a complete career change and have been away from sparking for a bit over 20yrs. That said I've always kept my hand in with various jobs over the years along with other building and trade skills.

I'm now looking to get back into the trade but the whole part P registration stuff is all new to me. I know I've got to pass the new 18th edition regs exams, and I've got copies of my C&G 236 certs from them although they only sent through the part 2 ( all my certificates were lost in a house move / Divorce )
I have done AM1 but not AM2 but dont have the certiface and dont know if I can get a replacement.
So the question is to register with NICEIC/NAPIT for part P regs will they require other proof of qualification? I know i;l need the correct insurances etc and they will need to inspect a couple of jobs but its the formal certificates that bothers me.

I"m not looking to take on major contracts again just do what I need too in order cover my wages and general handyman type of stuff, possibly looking to work for/with someone else for a bit at first just to get back up to speed with the new ways of doing things if there are any.

TIA

Why not contact them and ask, they need members to exist.
