It seems they no longer do business in the UK. What chances of an inverter replacement under warranty for a customer? no reply from the contact form to their website yet. anyone had any luck with this?

I had two ABB's replaced under warranty last week. Their service has always been first class.

The Power One (ABB) inverters have the highest failure rate of any we installed. Error code E031 anyone?? Followed by SMA. We installed lots of Samil inverters with only a couple of failures.

Probably too late, but we had 3 out of 4 Samil inverters go faulty. The site owner of this business park found that both the installer & the manufacturer had gone bust. He had a quote from a PV company to take a look at a cost of £800-00 + vat for a site visit & 3hrs labour . Then if they could not get them working they would quote to rectify the problems. I am the site sparks & looked at length on the net as to the warranty in the end I eventually found by chance a email address that I wrote. To my amazement within a couple of hours a response.I sent photos of the events list of each inverter & the support guy in Italy told me that they needed repairing & quoted. We purchased 4 refurbished inverters & will send the original faulty 4 back for repairs then we will have 4 spare for the future.I can highly recommend this guy . For those who do not know. Yeah...the Notorius EO31 on 3.0 and 3.6 OUTD units. Good warranty though and they pay for you to swap them out.

All Samil Power Solarlake 8500TL 2 off , a 12000TL & a 17000TL.

The only Samils I did were 4000TL on G83 installs. Still going as far as I know. Got to be 6-7 years old now.

I think the location of the inverters on an external wall with the hot summer we experienced was too much. Only inverters over 10kw have built-in cooling fans.

There are grid tie inverters that cost only a fraction of the original cost. I had 4kw mastervolt failed out of warranty and I bought similar inverter From ebay for £400.

Same here. A mates 3.0OUTD packed up this summer. Out of warranty. Got a SMA HF off ebay for £250. Bargain.
