Hi Chaps,

This may be a long shot but can anyone advise (or even point in the right direction) on the science behind the operation of semiconductor gas sensors.

Thanks
Steve

Hey Steve.

Semiconductor sensors are usually made up of a bead of tin oxide wrapped around two coils of platinum wire

The bead of tin oxide then gets heated up by one of the coils and the coductivity changes between the two coils if there is a gas present

I've fitted them in places like hospitals and storage facilities.

Anyway have a look at this it will tell you everything.

Development of Novel Semiconductor Oxide Gas Sensors

Cheers.:D
