Anyone got any thoughts on preventitve maintenance systems mainly the shire system.
Pros cons and which type you use.
I've been on there site and couldn't really decipher which one we need for system to incorporate all the plant (amonia fridge, effluent + usuals etc) servicing records and the stores in a food factory.
Also one that could talk to scada etc
would be cool if you know of any cheaper but realible alternatives it would put me in good stead with the new boss.
Cheers in advance

The two packages that i have been involved with are Impact XP and Maximo, both have their good points and bad...
Should say most software nowadays will link up with scada, i know if you are using wonderware some reports ect can be sent via a server, ethanet ect

Thanks m8 for the nfo. Anyone else? I know montybaber works in the food industry what do you use fella

Hi butty,

I don't know if this is too late for you but sounds like your perfect answer could be a product called Plan4 which does everything you seem to be asking for.

I've used a few previously, including Shire and ripped it out and replaced it with Plan4 it was designed by an ex-maintenance engineer so it works like we think, no extra buttons for no reasons!!! and properly thought about and the company that sell it still employ the guy and he really knows his stuff.

What SCADA are you using??? We were using Intouch (Wonderware) and we have it updating our PPM from it so we know where we are all the time. Bonus is the people who sell it are also the Intouch people so you know nothing is going to go wrong, especially if you have a new boss!!!

here is their website www.assetpt.co.uk/plan4 and if you want Q's answering let me know, I have the guys mobile number of you want it.

Hope it helps

MaintenanceMart :)
