Just a quickie guys..

May be fitting a multi gang plate tomorrow, the ones that incorperate 2 satellite connectors, telephone and standard TV coax..
Are there any issues with the twin SKY cable.. is it treated the same as standard coax.. albeit different connectors..?
cheers

Fitting the F connector just involves stripping back and screwing it on but the CT100 or equivilent coax has very different screening properties to that of ordinary coax cable. Mostly in the form of a continous metal sheath throughout its length. The one thing that you should avoid when dealing with satellite cables is sharp corners. Sharp corners can cause reflections within the cable and thereby attenuate the signal. Having said that you won't notice anything catastophic even if you do have an attenuated signal. Where it all starts going wrong is when the atmospheric conditions and rain start attenuating the signal. That compounded with the problems a poor cable run introduces will cause break up at a much a much higher threshold.
