A large school im working on has upgraded their supply from 200a TNS to 315a bs 88 - 185mm tails TNCS/pme, current bonding is only 16mm looped off local SWA armouring points around the school that are supplied from main intake

around 300m of 50mm earth to install, 4 main gas intake meter points, 3 main water intake points, school is split into 3 main buildings, 4 new MET positions and a shed load of p clips :0

cheapest i can get 50mm is £3.35 per meter from eddys, most expensive was cef(no surprise)

Credit will be a problem, but the savings will make up for it. Last time I had a large order I went to BATT’s. Delivered to site on the day requested.

BICC threw me years ago with delivery of 600 metres of 500mm Cambric singles, ordered Monday delivered Thursday!

I know what you mean Tony , it makes me laugh that Batt cables can manage a one of delivery on a first time visit in the middle of know where sometimes , and actually be within half an hour of the predicted drop time , yet my wholesalers can be more than a day out for some cable delivers when needed !

Another tip that I only found out last week while getting quotes for our latest large sub main install , was that you can knock even more of the price if you let them know that you have the gear to unload the drums when it is delivered .
