Hi

Changing a 3 phase star delta motor and replacing with a dol 3 phase motor.

Would i be right in thinking I can remove 3 of the 6 cables at the isolator and make sure I use the ones coming off the delta contactor to get the motor up and running for now.

No the motor will need connecting for delta at the motor terminal box and you would need to ensure correct rotation.

have you a picture of the motor nameplate?

Why are you doing this, you potentially could cause mains transients on smaller power networks and local installations, the reason it has a star/delta starter on is to suppress inrush currents when energising motors, it is recommended to have some form of soft starting method for motors 4kw and above.
To note here if your actions do cause power network/grid transients you and/or the company could face fines so I would take this into account, again, is there a valid reason to do this?
