Evening everyone,

I'm appearing on the Renovation Game in November !!!!!!

I got a call last week and was asked if I would come into a house that they were fixing, just to re-connect an oven and some lights back.

Ok, money was next to nothing, but great people and good banter !!

It was a bit weird when I had to re-connect the oven a few times, so they could get it on film properly !!

No , actually this IS the whole point of BS7671.... you do the job correctly or you don't do the job at all.

We use electricity, IT kills, Its Part P ...... my arse...

I'd have been crimping with a hammer and testing using a non-contact pen...

I’m now waiting for a post from Sav complaining about DIYers
It was literary just re connecting the oven and the lights were pendants which were hanging down due to the ceiling being painted.
They had to get an electrician in due to health and safety reasons !!
But then, who disconnected it in the first place...DIY'ers I bet !!!

Actually Barry, I did test the oven cable, just to make sure it had not come loose from the oven when they removed it and also the oven switch and outlet, although they wont show it, as I only have 6 mins of airtime.
They just show the oven being switched on and working and the presenter shaking my hand and saying thank you.
