Went to an Industrial estate this morning to pick up some kit, sitting in the Van I hapened to look up & see someone replacing floods on the side of a unit. Nothing unusual about that, it was just the way he was doing it. He removed the old brackets & instead of fitting the replacements in the same place he moved them about 6 inches up onto the metal siding, instead of drilling the siding to take the fixings he just got a hammer & philips screwdriver & punched holes through the sheet & used self tappers / washers to attach the new brackets (Can't see them staying on for very long, the siding is only thin sheet) from the back of the fitting ther'es about a metre loop of flex going to the terminal box & just swinging in mid air. Guys obviously never heard of Clips or battery drills.

Must admit, I have done this myself many years ago but it was so i could bolt it up from the other side as i was on my own and had no one to hold it in place for me and the self tappers just did it long enough,
but then i did have my ladder off the roof of the van at the time as it was not long enough.
The things you think you can do when your young enough to think your bullet proof :tank:

Damn, you mean were not Bulletproof. lol.
Know what you mean though, years ago when I was a pup a customer lived in a place at the foot of a cliff & thought it would be nice to have the cliff lit at night. So I obliged & spent 2 days hanging on the end of a rope about 40 foot up fitting lights & cableing, would i do it now ? Well hell yes, I still have'nt learnt any sense lol.

Once upon a time during the summer holidays, whilst working at a school. I was up a scaffold in the main hall pulling in some pyro’s. The high level perimeter of the hall was covered in windows. In the distance across the playground I could see a woman’s head appear from behind the curtains. She swept the street outside with a glance, found no one around and preceded to clean the downstairs windows semi-naked. Then she disappeared and I wrongly assumed that the upstairs was to receive the same treatment. Unfortunately that didn’t happen but it’s still one of my fondest memories.
