Hello again ladies and gentlemen,

Right so i've started on my level 3 course and i've started looking for some work experience, i'm just wondering what tools i would be required to have as a mate or improver with someone, i know i need VDE tools screwdrivers etc what other stuff will be needed on the job as a minimum.

any tips and advice much appreciated

Deano

Pliers, wire cutters, claw hammer, hacksaw, tape measure, set square, non insulated posi driver (for general fixing screws), small level.....depends what you'll be doing. If doing lots of metal containment then a file is handy, along with an adjustable spanner and pipe grips, if house bashing then tin snips and a big hammer and bolster chisel will be needed

thanks for the reply's really helpful thanks

Basic tools:
Multiple tape measures(can never have too many... Not sure what they're for but they're fun to pull out and let it wind back!)
VDE Screwdrivers, pliers, snips
Hammer
Hacksaw (jr and senior)
Stanley knife(or VDE if you really want)

Then from there get things like
Conduit cutters
krone punch down tool
wire stripper(learn how to with a knife and or snips first)
Water pump pliers X 2

Then basically if you have to borrow it more than twice it's worth getting yourself is my ruling.
