bit of a boring post lads, sorry, but have been asked by a contractor to run flew to outside lights in mini trunking across the tops of the plastic window frames as he didn't like it clipped direct to the brick. Fair enough, because the local wholesaler is useless and now only stocks white flew, but is there any problems with running the cable outside in the trunking?

Also is it necessary to run a 3core to the lights if they are only plastic fittings? I know for future proofing this is a good idea but the white flex really does stand out like a sore thumb

All cables must have a cpc connected at the supply end regardless of light fitting.

With the trunking, if you are using self adhesive, it would pay you to back up the adhesive with a few screws.

Thanks jason, yeah have done that anyway, just trying to find a better cable really than 3 core 1mm flex, cos it does stand out on the brick... and did pop a few screws in too without breaking the new glass!
