Hello to all, i bought a wood router about a year ago and then moved home and lost the instructions before getting chance to use it.
I am unable to get the router bits into the router securely as the diameter of the shaft on the bits that came with the router appears to be larger than the piece in the router which, is supposed to grip the shaft.
Am i doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance for replies

routers normally come in two sizes 1/4 and 1/2 inch you can make a 1/4 inch fit a 1/2 inch but not the other way round. the 1/4 inch ones normally come with sleeves to make them fit 1/2 inch routers hope this helps cheers stuart. I am of coarse talking about cutters fitting into router.

Cheers for the reply Stuart, i think it has something to do with the part called the collet. The diameter on my router bit are 8mm but they do not fit into the collet, they are too big
