Discuss VSDs/Gland plates/Earthing/Interference...? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Overheard a conversation today saying that it is not good practice to earth to gland plates.

Out of my depth really, I might recognise one (VSD) but couldnt lay claim to understanding them.

Just would like to be clear in my mind what interference might influence them.

Is there a requirement for functional earthing here or have i missed the point....?

Thanks
