Hi,
Is it worth buying a wander lead or is it best making one from an extension. Its just that I have my NICEIC inspection coming up & I dont want to slip up-you know what there like!
Thanks............

Makes no difference, aslong as it is nulled or it resistance subtracted from the final result then its ok. I just used and old coil of thin insulated wire i had for electronics, crimped a banana plug on one end and a croc clip on the the other to make it easier to work with

I think an extention lead might be a bit bulky.I would use single(conduit cable)2.5 or 4mm,keep it stored on the coil--and as paul says make sure to null the lead or else subtract its resistance from your readings.

The wander lead method is probably the best method for checking continuity.

However, you do not need to have a dedicated lead. Roll of single will suffice with it nulled before you test.

Thanks for that. The cost of wander leads is crazy, about £70.00 for a kewtech........Thanks again

On the subject of assessment, is it essential to have amp clamps, proving units & lock off equipment etc?..........
