Discuss Was this quote unreasonable? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

i'd say perfect. £200 - £250 a day is a perfectly reasonable fee for the time of a quality spark who will deliver quality work (assuming that to be the case ;) )

as oldtimer has poignantly mentioned, people will have zero issue with spending a fortune on consumables and desirable electronics, ironically showing total disregard for the essential commodity that powers them. Get bad work done and end up with a power cut, damaged house or damaged appliance as a result..... That £1200 3d tv with built in foot massager is as about as much use as anne frank's drum kit isnt it.

amen to that!

I don't get people sometimes. I did a quote a few months back to extend a ring and add 4 sockets. It was less than a days work and I quoted him £150 and he was happy and even checked I had qualifications and registered etc. Got a call the next day and he said the bloke down road said he'll do it for £50.

Ouch, there was definitley something sexual offered in that deal on top of the £50.
