My first overseas job with my new department was to "DEN HAGG" and as usual tou find out what the blokes you are working with are like, well the one I'm on about was a bully as well as being a bit of an Alchy, who took great pleasure in baiting someone that wasn't used to drinking.

First night out, we ended up in a restaurant, beer was going down well. time to go home and we settled the bill only to find I had a rather large glass of the local spirit on my table, sussed out that Matey was tyring to get me ratted, as we left Matey said "Oy Pete I got you a large whatever it was called aren't you going to drink it?" realising his ruse I told him I didn't want it and as he had bought it he was welcome to it, didn't speak to me for a few days, reckon I had done the right thing??

A tricky one , (what ever I did was always the wrong way)
.. After being married I realised a woman's intuition will often help.
... I hate wasted drinks in a family situation , but in a group of lads the dynamic is different - (awareness of the tight wad who never gets the round in)
.. Setting him up with the last -scrounged -Whollop- !
Hanging out with the lads , but using a woman's enpathy ...
can lead in another - Unexpected direction .. There is no Win !
(Not accusing you Pete999 , just a random, I struggle to be one of the "Alpha-males" observation of mine- And get more sweary )
-- It may be macho to leave an "I can afford it" Un drunk drink --
