sorry to stick this in here but i don't like talking about money on open forums,
I'm needing to get some help, a sweeper upper cable puller, not a apprentice just a mate,
whats a fair rate of pay? thanks...

Depends how old they are, how much you're hoping to make from them and how long you'd like them to work for you.

Wrong forum

I pay mine 8 quid an hour, he does chasing/trunking/tray etc, floorboards up and down, little bit of bonding coat plastering as well as the usual go get this n that from the van and cleaning up/tea making and that. He is part time tho, not sure if that would make a difference to pay rates.

£8 - £10 an hour is average. depends how useful he is: do you have to pick him up or does he make his own way to office/site?

Minimum wage at least.

My mate/labourer/Jack of all trades non-technical I pay roughly £10/hr I say 'roughly' as I actually pay him £100 a day and a day varies in length. He is late 30's

That aint bad money.

Pay peanuts get monkeys, though. And, one lesson sooo many employers have never learned: be nice to your staff and they'll respect you for it and be nice back.
