means of earthing (CPC) at every point on an installation (initial verification)....or words to that effect damion..From memory 412.2.3.2 essentially says that you have to run and terminate a protective conductor to each accessory. I can't remember the exact wording but this is not just good practice, it is a requirement. That is presuming the installation is not under the supervision of someone who will ensure that these fittings will never be changed to class 1 pieces of equipment.

Eh????
Im waiting for acceptance in the training forums but whilst I do I have a question. Ive always been told to earth things for example sockets that are not standard plastic but shinny nickel, I know you can get away with just using the lugs on a back box and the screws which are used to pull the socket face plate tight to the metal back box if the lugs are fixed however I still but an earth cable from the earth terminal on this back box to the earth terminal on the back of the socket juse because its good practice imo.
It's either this thread http://www.electriciansforums.net/e...l-electrical-forum/73854-help.html#post734622 or the new member has taken a shine to you Archie
what are you on about richard youve lost me. when I terminate a socet I put the cables in the relevant holes. I then get a bit of cpc from some 2.5 screw it to the earth teminal on the back box sleeve it and then pop it in the earth terminal on the socket.
I know thats right so not sure what you going on about if im honest
ps I hope to get accepted onto the training forums to, when I do Ill be learning alot hopefully and will be quick to jump on anyone who p[osts something wrongly. ESPECIALLY MURDOCH
