    Main Fuse is apparently ancient

    I've just moved into a 1920s house and want a new fuse box as I'm not happy to fiddle with fuse wire. An electrician looked at it and said "first you need to change the main fuse" and wandered off! So am I right in thinking an electrician cannot change this please?
