Hi all just looking into joining an electrical gov body so i can certificate my own work on a domestic scheme.
I have 2 jobs lined up to show an assessor a major rewire and a minor a spur.
I rang the niceic today and they told me I have to get building control out to certificate my work...

I dont have 2391 inspection & testing but can test. Which Body would you reccommend as some say you need this and others dont. i have the 17th edition and everything else.

Alot of people are gonna say joining a registered body (NICEIC) is the way forward whether domestic or commercial. Which I would also agree. I would assume it would add weight when applying for various jobs in the commercial sector, but I hear it is not a requirement to be registered in this...
At this point in time I am not regestered with a body.
How do I carry out notifiable work and keep within the law??
I am looking at regestring with NAPIT but at the moment I have not got the funds!!
Also, how do part P quallified people register with a body as all the bodys I have spoken with...
