    Why are smoke detectors so ugly?

    I know there are few out now that look ok, like the nest models, but still smoke/heat/CO detectors are very unslightly. One of the biggest complaints from customers, can rouine the look of a nice kitchen. Usually don't agree with customers but they are right in this case!

    Has any manufacturer come out with a compliant flush mounted CU? The ones I can see have either a plastic back and a metal door or a metal back and a plastic door.     Feedback : Fit plugs flush to the wall with recessed socket

    Any one out there ever needed to fit a recessed socket so the plug would fit flush with the wall. On a job and my customer need this so they can fit a piece of furniture close to the wall. Would there be any demand for some sort of recessed socket in certain situations??
