    looking for 2nd hand (probably) grid switches

    Got a client who has an old grid switch where 2 of the dimmers are decidedly unrelaible and want to replace then with standard on off switches. My guess is that the grid is about 20 years old, if not more. So I'm after 2 x the brown one on the left Thanks

    Hello guys had a lady on the phone who said she has upstairs and downstairs ring mains, she can plug the 1400 watt vac in upstairs and its fine but she cant plug it in downstairs as it trips the RCD protecting it I am not sure never come across this?

    Why doesnt T&E cable have Reference Method E (perforated cable tray) listed in table 4D5 (page 340 green)? Although table 4D2A does and says it's multicore cable with or without a CPC? What's the difference between this cable and T&E? Thanks in advance.

    socket outlet 50mm from edge of hobb but 350 mm high?

    Is this permissable or could steam form on the socket face plate or on a cable plugged into the socket and run down to say the kettle or a toaster? I believe the regs recomend a min 300mm? The installation is split load and rcd protected. many thanks
