Hi guys first post but been reading the forums for weeks I completed my 2391 in march after spending the previous 3 yrs doing all the relevant courses (2330,2382,2377 and part p) I am still wanting to continue my learning but I do not know of the next step I would like to possibly do a...
Hi guys, I've moved down from London to South Wales a couple of years and have been on my own since then. Things are going well and I'm struggling to cope with the amount of work coming in. I don't want to turn anything down so I need to get some help. I need totake somebody on who knows what...
Just had one of these installed and it appears to have 2 LEDs next to each other, one which flashes when consuming but does anyone know what the other one does ?
Haven't seen it flashing.
What are your thoughts?
I think a good electrician will accept full responsibility for their work and that responsibility should extend for the life of the installation.
A bad electrician would chuck it in any old way and be off in the van as quickly as possible without a second thought.
Evening all,
can anyone tell me what that sealant stuff is called that you use to seal ends of conduit when space is left around the cables?
cheers

Hi All,
Just thought I'd start a thread to discuss the best and most cost effective way of promoting your business.
The general consensus is to steer clear of Thomson/Yell, but what other avenues have people tried?
I personally have a website and also use local paper advertising supplemented...
Hey guys..
Trying to do up my resume and I'm stuck on a term.
I did some work a couple years ago where you take an old installation with no prints, and follow the cables/wires to create a set of as-builts..
What would you call that?
Thanks!
Just wondering on what everyones opinion is on installing more than 4kW (peak) is. We have for quite a long time installed more than 4kW on the roof. This is based on the fact that the inverter is limited to G83 and therefore will not exceed the 16A per phase limit but makes it all the more...

Hi all - Showing my ignorance/lack of experience here. I presume the main fuse for this system lurks inside the bulbous green box which has a seal on it. I need to pull the fuse to do some work on the system. There appears to be black slime oozing from this contraption. Any advice on how I...
Good evening everyone. Went to change my parents CU for them yesterday, I've never looked at the supply before, even when I lived there. I looked at the supply and there is no main earth? The only bonding there is. Is 10mm to the gas. First thought the gas was being used as earth but with...
For me, back in the 80s, flat mate was a tube driver, we get back to our home station, Borough, he says 'When there's no train in the station, the power rails are dead, I've already done it elsewhere, go and and sit on the middle rail and touch the outer 4th rail'
Me being an idiot does this...

Yes Maximum Demand again lol
I just tried to make the title a little more curious to get people to look ;)
Just playing with some maximum demand figures, started with 226A and got it down to 104.65A
Just wondering what id the highest figure you have recorded for a 100A fuse?
Is it actually...

Mine has got to be the Uerige in Düsseldorf.
Great beer, atmosphere, people etc etc... & it's the only pub I've been in with a map of the premises on the wall (it's not that big, suppose it helps when you're ratted)

Hi,
I installed a set of 5 downlights from B&Q. The downlights come hardwired into a daisy chain and worked initially for perhaps two months. Now only the first light on the chain works (the one closest to the transformer).
I've tried changing the bulbs, but that's not the issue. I've also...
