SDS Max would seem a bit 'Heavy Duty' for general chasing in most materials.
I've never used anything else but Sds max

I've got a DeWalt SDS max. Invaluable when you need it, but I wouldn't want to do ordinary chasing out with it. Far too bulky and heavy.
Only comes out on special occasions.

Corded Sds for boring joists and light duty boring of masonry
18v Sds for masonry fixings
Sds max for wall chasing and heavy duty boring masonry

Never really thought about using Sds plus for wall chasing

Not really. I used it for the second time today, but only for two very short chases in breeze block, which doesn't really count.

But it hasn't broken yet, so lasted longer than my last Armeg ;-)
