Looking at a job with under floor heating and the stats require 4C + E, what would you use? I was thinking of running in two PVC twin and earths.

Anyone else done something similar? Just after different options/opinions.

I would run in two 3 core +E to allow for any future wiring. You are pulling in cable anyway so might as well make any adaptations easier later on

2x 1.0 T&E or a 5 core 0.75 flex.

I can't see any future change in stat technology requiring more cores.
I'd guess the ones you are wiring have a floor sensor or night setback sensor to need an extra core??

Thanks guys.

It's a Nu-Heat system with set back.

I did think about using 5core flex but perhaps 1.0 5core. Just doesn't feel right installing flex over that distance etc. I must admit, having all the cores in one cable would be aload easier.

Regards

I was right about a night setback being involved then :)

In the past I've usually gone for 5 core 0.75 flex for these kind of stats, some of them specify it.

There's nothing wrong with installing flex these days, the 2metre rule disappeared many years ago.
