Anyone know where you can get hold of black adaptable boxes you drill the holes out yourself? They seem to be extinct lol!

well get a galv. box and paint it black. the Stones did in c.1965 and they're still going.

think what you are saying is that the plastic of the box is too thick. in that case, i'd gland into a galv. coupler and fit a male bush in the box with a banjo.

Their the exact ones, not seen the doubles only the singles

Don't think Wiska do singles? Probably thinking of the Piranha eath nuts?

The photo on TLC's website shows how standard glands don't really reach fully through the plate. It would be more secure if the plates were threaded, rather than relying on the locking screw and the thread in the plastic box to retain the gland.

Sounds like you've got it sorted now, but I got a black plastic box from Maplin a couple of years ago.

If anyone's interested I drilled a series of holes in the front, added a toggle switch, a speaker cone and a few resistors to balance things out, and made a speaker for the kitchen.

why want a speaker in the kitchen.? 'er indoors makes enough noise in there as it is.

No, it was for me! It was in my old place, which was tiny. Too small for a separate system to be practical, but the wrong shape just to turn up the stereo in the lounge.
A small, cheap, easily cleaned speaker which can be switched in and out of the system seemed like the best solution.
